A Night of Music and Memories

About Us

The Maidstone Choral Union is a choir for all ages and all voices. We are currently about 45 singers and perform three main concerts per year.

There is no audition, you don’t need to have sung in a choir before and you will almost certainly be sitting beside people with both more and less experience than you.

We are led by an experienced conductor and a wonderful accompanist.

We rehearse on Tuesdays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at St Nicholas Parish Church, Poplar Grove, Allington, Maidstone ME16 0DE.

Repertoire

The Maidstone Choral Union is a choir of all ages and voices; what brings us together is an enjoyment of singing sacred and secular music from a range of composers, classical and modern. We aim to perform three times a year and choir rehearsals are focused on these performances.

“I would like to extend my sincere thanks for the kind invitation to the Maidstone Choral Union’s Summer Concert last Saturday. It was a real pleasure to attend and enjoy a celebration of music for the summer, with songs beautifully performed by MCU and the Energize Community Choir.

“The energy, talent and dedication of everyone involved truly shone through, and it was wonderful to see our local community brought together through such uplifting music. Please do pass on my thanks and warmest congratulations to all the performers and organisers.

“It was good to welcome such a large and enthusiastic audience last night! One of our older (90+) members was brought by some of her family. She doesn’t usually leave her care home and was thrilled to bits to be at Week Street and had a wonderful evening. I believe she also came downstairs for a short time afterwards [for mulled wine and a mince pie]. I’m sure she’ll be full of it when I see her next!”
