Some comments from our audience

The friend of one choir member wrote:

“Well, what can I say!
I came to your concert this evening in Shepway and I was completely blown away. I knew that it would be good, but it completely exceeded my expectations. I thought the programme was impeccable, lovely carol choices, and extremely well balanced between choir only, and choir and audience. I loved every minute, and it was over far too soon, I’m so glad that I came, and what an honour to be able to sing with such a fantastic choir.
Well done to everyone…singers, accompanist and conductor.
Happy Christmas”

One patron wrote:

“…. hearty thanks for a really enjoyable concert last night.

The programme was well balanced; the poem a delightful variation, I particularly enjoyed Coventry Carol, The Three Kings (William has such a good voice), Gaudete and of course Sleigh Ride brought the house down!

My best wishes to you and to MCU for a Merry Christmas, and a Happy and Healthy New Year too.”

Our New Music Director

Our new Conductor Ciara Considine Conducts a varied and exciting programme with the visiting Witten Symphony Orchestra

We are proud to say that the 122 season will commence in September.

We perform most of our concerts at All Saints Church in Maidstone. Some are at The United Reformed Church, Week St, Maidstone or at Mote Hall, Maidstone.

In 1902 Maidstone had a Ladies Glee Club, whose conductor was Frank Wilson Parish, the organist at All Saints’ Church. In October that year some musical gentlemen sought to join them and the Maidstone Choral Union was born.
